All very active on the Swiss art scene and abroad, the 3io “INKlings” is a beautiful encounter of 3 swiss musicians: Céline-Giulia Voser, Sandra Weiss and Coralie Lonfat. They first all met in New York in 2010/11 and, after several jam sessions overseas, decided to create a 3io when all of them would be back in Switzerland: INKlings.
The project expresses a desire to go beyond common expectations and find a playground for experimentation to share collectively. Their collaboration is marked by the creation of a platform for experimentation and sound exchanges, where each, due to their various and rich influences, is a fertile ground for breaking ones own limits, taking risks, confronting and developing a specific artistic approach. The specificity of the project is a strong desire to offer to the audience - during the time of a performance - an abstract visual project, alternating with contemplative and dynamic moments, steeped in fantasy and lots of poetry. The whole inspired by 3 little creatures... the ‘INKlings’... They inkle ... Listen ... carefully ... you will hear, feel and sometimes even see ... the sound waves they create.
Interference in Process
Constructive interference occurs when the wave amplitudes reinforce each other, building a wave of even greater amplitude. Destructive interference occurs when the wave amplitudes oppose each other, resulting in waves of reduced amplitude. Sabine Ercklentz and Tisha Mukarji meet again to compose collision points that set in motion a process of musical interference. Instruments, sources, and sounds are set up to measure and create impressions of a music that stands still at certain points and deviates at others. It’s a space of delicate and tremulous listening.
