Lena Czerniawska

This is my habit - I draw to improvised music. I transform what I hear and what I see. I record, take notes, imagine, react, lurk. The things that happen here and now I call untraceable. I am a listener and a narrator. I adjust to sounds, movements and to myself. Thus, I listen more carefully.

I am a drawer, a literature enthusiast and an amateur ornithologist. Drawing for me is the way to travel, to make music, to write a story, to watch the birds, to make one-man-all-night-party, to tell a joke, to meditate and, what recently is the most important for me, to improvise. I always carry my sketchbook with me and use it as the first aid in documenting everyday life. I try more to search rather than find as I know that ‘Who finds did not search right’ (Aglaja Veteranyi).
