Chinatown Sound System

Paulo aka Chinatown Sound System is a filmmaker/artist/dj with a passion for avantgarde art and music scene and for dancing. He’s been traveling and living in London, Milan, Lisbon, New York City, Hong Kong, and his new love Berlin. He spinned in clubs as Lux Fragil in Lisbon, several venues in Chinatown NYC where he got his film degree and started the Chinatown Sound System, Plastic and Loft 21 in Milano, Dalston in London and many more. In Berlin is djing regularly, showing his films and collaborating with other local djs as Franz Underwear, Marcello Giordani, Emile Doesn’t Drive and Roi Poingi. He’s the mind and the soul behind the “Love Dancers Union” party scheduled at Monster Ronson’s Ichiban Karaoke each first friday of the month, and he is regularly djing in other notorious Berlin venues as Klub der Republik with the monthly “Cosmic Psychedelia” and Madame Claude with the “Drifting On A Balearic Wave” project . He also plays synths and guitar riffs for some of his re-works played on his live dj sets.
