Ihre Stimme ist ein vielstimmiges und extremes Klanginstrument, das sie zusätzlich mit Vogelpfeifen, Resonanz- und Lautsprecherobjekten, Field Recordings und Mehrkanaldiffusion erweitert. Ihre Arbeit bewegt sich im Bereich von Improvisation, Komposition und Performance Art.
Als Stimmsolistin im Bereich der experimentellen Musik ist sie auf internationalen Festivals in Europa, Australien, Mexiko, Brasilien, Asien, USA vertreten. Sie tritt regelmäßig mit bekannten Improvisationsmusiker*innen auf wie Jaap Blonk, Mazen Kerbaj, Raed Yassin, Andrea Parkins, Isabelle Duthoit, Magda Mayas, Michael Zerang, John Russel und vielen anderen. Sie ist Mitglied fester Gruppen wie Tree 23 (mit Joke Lanz), Speak Easy (mit Phil Minton, Thomas Lehn, Martin Blume), radio tweets (mit Birgit Ulher), N.E.W. (Mit Sabine Ercklentz und Andrea Neumann), MUT (Thomas Rohrer, Michael Vorfeld), oder PRAED Orchestra. 
Ute Wassermann hat zahlreiche für sie geschriebene Werke mit bekannten Ensembles und Orchestern uraufgeführt. Sie hat Kompositionsaufträge erhalten von: Universität Amsterdam, Poetica Sonora Mexico City, Ryogoku Art Festival Japan, Transart Festival Bozen, Musik der Jahrhunderte, maulwerker und Distractfold Ensemble. Her voice is a polyphonic and extreme sound instrument, which she additionally expands with bird whistles, resonance and loudspeaker objects, field recordings and multi-channel diffusion. Her work moves in the field of improvisation, composition and performance art.
As a vocal soloist in the field of experimental music, she is represented at international festivals in Europe, Australia, Mexico, Brazil, Asia, USA. She regularly performs with well-known improvisation musicians* such as Jaap Blonk, Mazen Kerbaj, Raed Yassin, Andrea Parkins, Isabelle Duthoit, Magda Mayas, Michael Zerang, John Russel and many others. She is a member of fixed groups like Tree 23 (with Joke Lanz), Speak Easy (with Phil Minton, Thomas Lehn, Martin Blume), radio tweets (with Birgit Ulher), N.E.W. (with Sabine Ercklentz and Andrea Neumann), MUT (Thomas Rohrer, Michael Vorfeld), or PRAED Orchestra.
Ute Wassermann has premiered numerous works written for her with well-known ensembles and orchestras.
