Residenzen
[de] ausland bietet interessierten Einzel-Künstler/innen und Künstler/innengruppen an, sich für eine zwei- bis max. vierwöchige Residenz im ausland zu bewerben. Insgesamt werden wir pro Jahr 6 Residenzen vergeben.
Was bekommen die Resident/innen: Ungestörte Nutzung des auslands als Probe- und Arbeitsraum über die gesamte Residenzzeit, Zugang zur im ausland vorhandenen Technik inkl. der nötigen Einführungen, sowie Rat und Unterstützung bei der Umsetzung ihrer Projekte.
Was verlangen wir von den Resident/innen: Im Laufe der Residenz müßt ihr mindestens eine öffentliche Veranstaltung durchführen. Dabei ist alles denkbar: Vom Gespräch, über ein Showing bis zum Einladen von anderen Künstler/innen, was auch immer, solange es öffentlich ist. Diese Veranstaltung kann aber nicht erst während der Residenz geplant werden, sondern sollte Teil des Residenzplans sein, mit dem ihr Euch bei uns bewerbt. Außerdem bekommen wir von Euch eine Dokumentation (medium offen) nach Ende der Residenz.
Wie funktioniert die Auswahl: Residenzen im ausland gibt es erst seit 2010. Bisher gibt es noch kein formales Auswahlverfahren. Wenn ihr uns kennt, dann sprecht uns einfach an. Wenn ihr uns noch nicht kennt, dann kommt bei einer der 'How to ausland'-Veranstaltungen vorbei und sprecht uns da an. Sollte das beides nicht möglich sein, dann schickt uns eine Nachricht über die Webseite unter Verwendung der Kategorie 'How to ausland'. Die Nachricht sollte uns dann schon neugierig machen, warum gerade ihr ausgerechnet was im ausland machen wollt.
Und hier noch das Kleingedruckte:
Es gibt KEINERLEI finanzielle Unterstützung, d.h. kein Geld, keine Wohung und keine Reisekosten. Wir bemühen uns, diesen unbefriedigenden Zustand zu ändern, aber solange wir nicht externe Unterstützung für diese Residenzen bekommen, können wir keine finanzielle Unterstützung über die Verwendung des ausland hinaus bieten.
Es ist nicht möglich, während der Residenzzeit im ausland zu wohnen, also müßt ihr Euch – wenn ihr nicht eh in Berlin wohnt – zusätzlich noch um Schlafplätze kümmern. Möglicherweise können wir euch dabei helfen, was zu finden, aber versprechen können wir nichts...
[en] ausland offers interested solo artists and artists' groups the possibilty to apply for a two to four-week residence. Over a year at most three residencies will be awarded.
What the residents get: Undisturbed use of ausland as rehearsal or working space over the entire residence time, access to the existing technology including the necessary introductions, as well as advice and support in implementing their projects.
What we ask of the residents: During the course of the residence you must at least once present a public event at ausland. You are free to design your public event any way you see fit: From a conversation, to a work in progress showing, to inviting other artists, anything you like as long as it is a public event. This event can not be planed once you are in residence at ausland, but should be part of your proposal for the residency. Furthermore we want a documentation (medium of your choice) after the residency.
How does the selection works: there are only residences at ausland since 2010. As yet there is no formal selection process. If you know us, then simply talk to us. If you do not know us, then come to one of the 'How to ausland' events and talk to us there. Should both not be possible, then send us a message through the website using the category 'How to ausland'. This message we should make us a bit curious why you want to do something at ausland.
And here's the fine print: There is no financial support, ie no money, no flat and no travel costs. We working to change this unsatisfactory situation, but as long as we do not get external support for these residences, we can not provide financial above the free use of the ausland space.
It is not possible to live at ausland during the time of the residence. If you do not live in Berlin you will have to find a place to stay somewhere else. Maybe we can help you in finding something but we can make no promises...
