E, the trio of Jason Sidney Sanford, Thalia Zedek and Gavin McCarthy make angular, energized, and idiosyncratic rock music. These accomplished and inventive musicians could not be more different in the way they express themselves but their egoless dedication to ensemble playing and writing shapes E’s distinct sound.
E has been touring and writing together steadily since their self-titled 2016 debut, at an age when many musicians are loath to abandon what they are known for and jump back into the grind of establishing a new band. E’s egoless dedication, love of playing, and relentless inventiveness are irresistible qualities of the band. Tonight's show was initially planned for June 2020, then postponed to 2021 due to Corona, postponed once more - and finally happens now, as part of E's 2022 European Tour.
They'll bring their newly released EP "Any Information" (Silver Rocket) with them, and for the tour, Ernie Kim jumps in for Gavin McCarthy on the drums this time.
"E brings together three disparate but complementary energies, the brute, ravaged force of Thalia Zedek's singing and playing, the spiked, percussive punk cadences and altered guitar sounds of Jason Sanford and the elemental thump of Gavin McCarthy's drums... Any Information... is its most cohesive statement yet."
Jennifer Kelly, Dusted

Ian Douglas-Moore's music uses guitar, electronic tones, and field recordings to examine the textures of layered resonant sounds as they engage with acoustic space. Treating an acoustic guitar as a tone generator, his performances blur the boundaries between electronic and acoustic music. He has released recordings and toured throughout the US and Europe with musicians like percussionist Leo Suarez, saxophonist Paul Roth, and sound artist Pär Thörn; and plays in composer David First's Western Enisphere ensemble.
