[en] The world thought it knew Mark E. Smith a bit. The co-founder, singer and lyricist of the Rockgroup The Fall. He was and is considered to be a unique person. The world is allowed to rest for one day.
For his birthday, the 5th of March, (he was born on Pancake Tuesday 1957), which he sadly cannot celebrate anymore we would like to hold a social gathering, throw him a party he might like.

An evening for the man with the many studio albums... it would be impossible to listen to them all in one day. We will listen to the music he liked instead. The motoric Krautrock of Can, the heavy hard rock of Black Sabbath, but also the Scandinavian Eurodance Pop of Aqua.
We want to talk about and remember the avid and enthusiastic reader Mark E. Smith, references being Nietzsche and Philip K. Dick.
And watch the series and films he enjoyed, like The Twilight Zone, The Prisoner or Columbo, the crime drama about the unorthodox Lieutenant. Who knows, maybe he saw himself as such a sleuth?
