Das Projekt Somadrone (alias Neil O?Connor) begann 1995 mit Aufnahmen auf alten Bandmaschinen und Vierspurgeräten, die 1999 in limitierter Auflage auf Mango Music veröffentlicht wurden. Neben der Arbeit mit Bands wie Redneck Manifesto, Connect Four Orchestra, Goodtime John and Jape, begann Somadrone mit Intrumenten wie Vibraphon, Harfe, Theremin, Indian Drone Machines und analogen Synthezisern zu experimentieren. Die Doppel CD ?Fuzzing Away To A Whisper? (Trust Me I?m a Theif records) präsentiert eine Sammlung von Aufnahmen aus sechs Jahren Produktion, das Repertoir reicht von elektroakustischen Stücken bis zu Pop und verarbeiten Einflüsse der frühen Kraftwerk, Broadcast, Brian Eno und Steve Reich. 2007 nahm er am Bang On a Can Music Festival am MASS Museum of Modern Art (Boston) teil und gewann den Varese Award for Ambient Music. Mit ?Of Pattern and Purpose? brachte er sein drittes Album zusammengestellt aus Miniatursymphonien und elektronischen Intermezzi, auf dem er zum ersten Mal auch mit Gesang arbeitet. Somadrone wird uns am 16. Mai in Begleitung des Videokünstlers Eoghan Kidney in seine akustische Wunderkammer entführen.

Lonski & Classen
Nach ihren Nachnamen nennen sich die beiden Berliner Musiker Lukas Lonski und Felix Classen und unterstreichen damit die Direktheit der Linienführung, in der ihre Musik gemalt ist. Es finden sich textliche Bezüge zu den Gezeiten des Lebens, mal verhalten und in sich eingekehrt, dann in deutlich ausgeführten Schwüngen voller Hoffnung. Das musikalische Bild bestimmen zum einen zart angeschlagene Stimmungen, zum anderen ein geschickt arrangiert- und teilweise improvisiertes Zusammenspiel mit dem ?Zufall?, wie die zwei es auf der Rückseite ihres im Frühjahr 07 erschienenen Debuts selbst zu Protokoll geben.

Somadrone:
Incepted in 1995, Somadrone began as a project to document some home recordings from old tape machines and 4-track recorders.
This was released in 1999 as a 10" single limited to 100 copies.
The latter years involved playing, recording and touring in Europe and America with Redneck Manifesto, Connect Four Orchestra, Goodtime John and Jape. Instruments such as Vibraphone, Harp, Theremin, Indian Drone Machines and Analogue Synths feature on 2005's "Fuzzing Away To A Whisper" released Sept 05 on Trust Me I'm a Thief records. These collections of recordings are 2 CDS from six years of producing. They range from electro-acoustic pieces to pop music and incorporate elements of early Kraftwerk, Broadcast, Brian Eno and Steve Reich.
While pursuing a PhD in Music, he has currently finished work in the US with New York's Bang On a Can.
Somadrone's third album "Of Pattern and Purpose" was assembled. The first to incorporate vocal accompaniment, it is composed mostly of miniature symphonies and electronic interludes. Released May 07, will be available nationwide on Trust me I'm a Thief records.
