Guts & Dogmatics
Guts
Liz Allbee: trumpet
Matthias Müller: trombone
Roy Carroll: computer, loudspeakers
On 7th June Guts will enter the ausland to undertake two days of audio recording experimentation aimed at mining the tensions between presenting air pressure disturbances in person (performance) and by proxy (recording).
Working with materials such as musical instruments, domestic objects, commercial packaging, audio reinforcement equipment, audio transducers (highly specialised and/or expensive, DIY, simply crappy) and parameters such as sound-source placement, compositional prerogatives, perceptual fusing of timbres, perceived visual and auditory cue dissonance.
Guts will instigate both straightforward and queasily convoluted audio/acoustic situations, plunging their unprotected fingers into the very viscera of sound propagation.
Tonight Guts will give a concert exhibiting their discoveries.
