Svetlana Maraš

For years she uses sound as a tool for exploration of musical form, expression and meaning in the wider artistic context. Improvises using objects, laptop, electronics and prepared instruments. Her works have been composed for various media, explores the boundaries of musical being by the way of realization of musical ideas through sound, text, physical object or digital technology. Fascination with the relation of music and everyday object results in theoretical research “Embedded composition”, part of her graduate thesis at MediaLab, Helsinki.
