repetitive patterns of acoustic sounds are recorded in different resonating spaces to gather a collection of small cells of ‘regional distinctions". by contrasting the material and isolating certain parameters for audification, transcription is generated. the transcription is used to trigger electronic instruments, creating an altered interpretation of the original cells. the base for the visual intervention are hand processed leftovers of 16mm film material, a non-image made of dust, chemical traces etc. the celluloid is transferred to digital image, the once tangible material is virtualized. finally, through live manipulation, visual and sonorous compositions arise in resonance as electronic entity, reminiscent of its analogue genealogies.

Seit Jahren arbeiten Urs Leimgruber, Jacques Demierre, Barre Phillips im drummerlosen Trio. Und gehen damit - Evan Parker sagt es in den kurzen "liner notes" - den langen Weg bis zum legendären Jimmy Guiffre Trio zurück. Damals ging es um eine nie gehörte Leichtigkeit, den Impressionismus im Jazz, getupften Klang. Leimgruber, Demierre, Phillips finden ihre Schönheit am andern Ende des Raumes. In der radikalsten Variante der Improvisation, die keine Rücksicht auf konventionellen Aufbau und Fortschreiten eines Themas legt, in der es gleich um den entkernten Inhalt geht. Um das Evozieren und Festhalten des flüchtigen Ereignisses. Und das gelingt zauberhaft. Im ausland wird das Trio durch die beiden Ausnahmemusiker Axel Dörner und Okkyung Lee ergänzt.
